Our Story
Born in a small kitchen.
Lava Café & Bakery came from the heart of our resident Le Cordon Bleu Chef, Emily. Quickly, one loaf became 10 and we were running out of room in our little first home in Essex. After expanding our output to keep up with demand we became overwhelmed with the lack of space and proper equipment, the time had come when we needed to expand.
A space for all.
This is where we find ourselves today, a bakery and café that is female-owned and operated and prides itself on supporting local businesses, creating things by hand so they taste better, a business that cares about those in its community and the planet they live on, a place that has lived in our heart and is now a reality for everyone.
